Joseph, leader of the Kerala Congress (J), says that the loss of Muavattupuzha would also mean a loss of one seat for the Central Travancore region. “The Kerala Congress belt has lost a seat, too,” he pointed out. The splintering of Muvattupuzha presents difficulties for the political parties too. Most parties have strong district units in Ernakulam with a well-organised organisational structure.

The Central Government will support if the Kerala Government is readyto allot the place for the development of tourism places in Idukki. “For the development of tourism places in Idukki, small airports should be emerged”, says Francis George,M.P. His continuous application made the Central Government to forward the Project.

At present the tourists arrives in Cochin Airport and have to travel 5-8 hours to reach the famous tourist spots like Munnar,Thekkady,Idukki,etc.As a result of damaged road, tourist people are not interested to move to Idukki. So the upcoming airport projects could give an answer for these problems.
